Mission
Communities United Against Police Brutality is a Twin-Cities based organization that was created to deal with police brutality on an ongoing basis. We work on the day-to-day abuses as well as taking on the more extreme cases. Our overriding goal is to create a climate of resistance to abuse of authority by police organizations and to empower local people with a structure that can take on police brutality and actually bring it to an end. We provide support for survivors of police brutality and families of victims so they can reclaim their dignity and join the struggle to end police brutality.
Activities or mission (Part I)
CUAPB is an organization that was created to deal with police brutality on an ongoing basis.

Successfully advocated for the passage of Travis' Law requiring 911 call centers to deflect mental health crisis calls to mental health crisis responders rather than law enforcement. Provided workshops to train county officials on implementation of Travis' Law. Got City of Minneapolis to adopt a ban on no-knock warrants. Canvassed and collected 1500 experiences to inform the DOJ and MDHR in their investigations of the Minneapolis police. Held 24 events in the community to educate about the investigations in the MPD. Prepared an analysis of the Hillard Heintz after action report. Continued to operate our 24-hour hotline and the rest of our ongoing programmatic work.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
