Mission
TO BE A LEADING ADVOCATE FOR ALL ANIMALS, TO MAXIMIZE THE HEALING POWER ANIMALS HAVE ON THE HUMAN SPIRIT, AND TO PROVIDE SHELTER, SAFETY, AND SECOND CHANCES TO ANIMALS IN NEED.
Activities or mission (Part I)
ALAQUA ANIMAL REFUGE (AAR) WAS FOUNDED ON THE CORE BELIEF THAT EVERY ABUSED, NEGLECTED AND HOMELESS ANIMAL DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE. OUR MISSION IS TO BE A LEADING ADVOCATE FOR ALL ANIMALS IN NEED RESULTING IN A KINDER, MORE EMPATHETIC WORLD FOR ALL LIVING SOULS. SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES IN 2022 THAT IMPACTED OUR MISSION AND VISION WERE: 1) MOVING STAFF AND ANIMALS (DOGS AND CATS) INTO OUR NEW QUARANTINE AREA AND ADOPTION AREAS, INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF ANIMALS WE ARE ABLE TO TAKE IN, 2) THE ABILITY TO HOLD PUBLIC EVENTS ONCE AGAIN FOR FUNDRAISING, 3) OPENING OUR FACILITY TO THE PUBLIC.
-
ALAQUA ANIMAL REFUGE IS RECOGNIZED AS A PREMIER NO-KILL REFUGE PROVIDING PROTECTION, SHELTER, AND CARE TO ANIMALS AND IS ENGAGED IN MULTIPLE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS FOCUSED ON THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS IN NEED. IN 2022, ALAQUA RESCUED AND PROVIDED SHELTER AND MEDICAL CARE FOR 1288 DOMESTIC ANIMALS AND 1760 WILD ANIMALS, IN ADDITION TO THE 68 SANCTUARY ANIMALS THAT ARE NOT ADOPTABLE. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
