• THE ROSEBUD CONTINUUM IS A CONTINUOUS AND EVOLVING PROJECT TO RESTORE AND PRESERVE A RELATIVELY LARGE LAND AND LAKE AREA IN PASCO COUNTY FLORIDA AND USE THE PROPERTY FOR COMMUNITY EDUCATION. THE PROJECT INCORPORATES A NUMBER OF NEW ADDITIONS TO THE LANDSCAPE, ALL DEMONSTRATING BEST PRACTICES IN SUSTAINABILITY. BY REMOVING INVASIVE PLANTS AND REPLANTING WITH NATIVES, THE NATURAL ECOSYSTEM IS REJUVENATED BRINGING BACK THE CORRECT BALANCE. BEE HIVES (INCLUDING A DISPLAY HIVE), BAT HOUSES, CHIMNEY SWIFT TOWERS, AN OSPREY PLATFORM AND A WATER FEATURE FOR AREA AND MIGRATING BIRDS HAVE BEEN ADDED, BOTH TO ENCOURAGE A HEALTHY ECOSYSTEM AND TO PROVIDE DEMONSTRATION AND INSTRUCTION FOR THOSE VISITING IN 2022, AND INTO THE FUTURE. ALSO ONSITE FOR EDUCATIONAL DISPLAY ARE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES INCLUDING SOLAR, WIND, BIODIGESTERS AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE THAT USES NATURAL ALTERNATIVES SUCH AS HYDROPONICS, AQUAPONICS, AND AQUACULTURE ALONG WITH DEMONSTRATIONS USING NO-TILL AGRICULTURE THAT REBUILDS THE SOIL. WE PROVIDE AREAS FOR STUDY AND TESTING FOR UNIVERSITY AND OTHER STUDENTS. AS WE CONTINUE, WE WILL ADD HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY/SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS FOR LECTURES, CLASSES, RESEARCH AND OTHER EDUCATION PURPOSES. IN 2022, ROSEBUD CONTINUUM WELCOMED STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA PATEL COLLEGE OF GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY STUDENTS, PROFESSORS, AND THE DEAN MULTIPLE TIMES FOR TEACHING ACTIVITIES, DEMONSTRATIONS, AND CLASSES. ALSO HOSTED WERE LAND O LAKES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS, AND MULTIPLE OTHER SCHOOLS FOR FIELD TRIPS, INCLUDING SOME FROM OUT OF STATE. WE ALSO HOSTED INDIGENOUS ELDERS FROM ALL OVER NORTH AMERICA AND GUESTS FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES WHO CAME TO LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT WE DO. WE WORK WEEKLY WITH INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED ADULTS AND HOST THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS.
