Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

To create a relationship-centered community where marginalized youth and their families can hope, heal, and thrive.

  • Youth Programs: -HOPE585 empowers youth impacted by the foster system with the tools, relationships, and support they need to build fulfilling lives. We offer mobile crisis counseling and case management throughout Rochester, focused on stabilizing youth and connecting families to vital resources. Our trauma-informed mentorship model builds long-term, hope-filled relationships that help young adults grow in confidence, independence, and resilience. Through our innovative foster home program, teens on the verge of aging out receive daily support and life skills training from a dedicated foster mom to prepare for a strong future. This program is supported by contributions.

    Expenses $611,804

  • Family Support:-We connect people who can help with people who need help through the Care Portal.-The Legacy Fund is a vital cash assistance program, extending support to every young individual transitioning out of foster care in Monroe County and families within the system striving for reunification, stability, and healing. Annually, our program allocates funds to approximately 150 families, effectively averting homelessness and easing the burdens of poverty.(Continued on Schedule O)-Through resource identification, mental health support, case management, and collaborative goal-setting, our services provide comprehensive assistance to empower families on their journey towards reunification. This program is supported by contributions.

    Expenses $308,431 · Grants $154,980

  • Advocacy: HOPE585 reimagines a community where children are safe, with their families, by focusing on two things: 1) Providing excellent hope-centered programs and services to system-impacted youth and families and 2) Championing/Leading advocacy efforts that empower collaborative, community-driven change. Our Reimagine Initiative is a community-driven response to child poverty and neglect to narrow the front door to child welfare. We aim to keep children safe with their families, and minimize unnecessary and costly CPS involvement. This program is supported by contributions.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
