Activities or mission (Part I)
WABA empowers people to ride bikes, build connections, and transform places.
-
Adult and Youth Education - WABA's education program delivers high quality, inclusive education experiences that empower adults, youth and families to ride confidently, move freely, and achieve their personal goals ' on and off bike. We envision a region where people of all ages and abilities have the skills, information and experience necessary to make informed decisions about how to get around safely.
Expenses $713,751 · Grants $226 · Revenue $460
-
Trail Rangers - WABA's Trail Ranger program is putting a fresh set of eyes on DC trails to support and encourage a growing community of trail users. Trail Rangers are a consistent and helpful presence on DC's mixed-use, paved trails, charged with assisting trail users, improving trail conditions, and working with city agencies to keep the trails clean, welcoming, and clear of obstacles. They carry tools and are able to help patch a flat, provide a quick fix, dish out maps and directions, or clear up glass and debris before it causes trouble. Their presence means less ducking around branches, and more reasons to enjoy the area's trail network.
Expenses $565,113 · Grants $1,267
-
Advocacy and Promotion of Cycling: WABA's Advocacy Team works to advance safer streets and better bicycling across the Capital region by facilitating grassroot and stakeholder engagement, collaborating with regional partners, and supporting community-led efforts.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
