Other program services: In addition to the programs listed in lines 28, 29 and 30, Texas Floating Classroom, Inc. conducted 52 Marine Science Cruises aboard the Research Vessel Archimedes into Corpus Christi Bay, Aransas Bay, San Antonio Bay, Lavaca Bay and Tres Palacios Bay, serving a total of 733 students and 249 teachers. For 255 participants, it was their first time on a boat. Our Traveling Bay program also visited an additional 30 schools, parks, libraries and museums with our Touch Tanks, allowing 3,916 students and 456 adults to interact with live fish, crabs, shrimp and other specimens collected from (and returned to) local bays in their watersheds. The Traveling Bay educational team traveled a total of 17,588 miles throughout the year so that students who were not able to participate in Marine Science Cruises would be able to view, touch, and learn about the marine organisms that inhabit the bays into which the rainwater that falls on their communities flows, thereby connecting these future stewards of our environment to the organisms that are affected by their actions.
