Mission

California Interfaith Power & Light inspires and mobilizes individuals and communities of faith and conscience to take boldand justaction on climate change.

Activities or mission (Part I)

California Interfaith Power & Light works with faith communities, primarily houses of worship, to help them green their facilities and educate their congregants about climate change solutions.

  • In 2024 California Interfaith Power & Light worked with hundreds of houses of worship and thousands of individuals of faith and conscience to inspire and facilitate climate action. We helped congregations install rooftop solar and become resilience hubs to support their communities in times of disaster. We promoted clean vehicles and helped people access EV rebates. We supported clean energy and climate policy solutions at the local, state, and federal levels. More than 100 houses of worship participated in our Faith Climate Action Week program to deliver Earth- care focused worship services and other events the week of Earth Day.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
