  • High School & Private Programs - For 2022, BUBA operated 367 sessions (16 different types of classes / private lessons)consisting of 720 hrs for 1,559 high school participants. These sessions teach various baseball &softball skills that would help participants improve their performance on school teams. Youth from Baltimore City public schools attended sessions without charge while ex-city youth are charged, unless minority youth request free credits. HS youth also mix with college players who volunteer at BUBA, which creates a mentoring relationship, helping to motivate the younger participant. These relationships are created because of the use of BUBA facility by 3 local colleges - Towson, UMBC and Johns Hopkins.

  • All Programs 12 & Under - In 2022, BUBA conducted 68 sessions (10 unique programs) consisting of 106 hrs for 374 participants. The training also helps build self confidence which has proven to be important in youth development. Baltimore City youth attend without charge, while ex-city youth are charged, unless minority youth apply for free credit. There are 5 Baltimore City teams (12&U) and BUBA has a good relationship with all teams. Teams also purchase facility use time at reasonable rates. Although most sessions are conducted by paid instructors, College players also volunteer to help with training

  • Hit Trax Games & Training - BUBA held 24 specific sessions for 43 hrs dedicated to the use of the 2 Hit Trax systems (In Motion Systems) originally funded by local City grants at $17,000 ea. Mostly used for HS youth, BUBA conducted Hit Trax games with local high schools. Although these games became a fundraiser, their purpose was to generate competition among athletes & schools during the off season. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
