Mission and programs · 2022
Mission
An organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through effective action and leadership.
-
JLE-NS Thrift House: Provides donated, quality, low cost goods and volunteers to run the thrift store. The store serves the surrounding communities focusing on low income individuals and families in need. The thrift store gives the JLE-NS the opportunity to offer a voucher program to assist other non-profit organizations such as the local domestic violence shelter. Large bags of useful goods were also donated to our community partners.
Expenses $158,298
-
JLE-NS Community Programs and Activities: Provides support for advancing employment and supporting families. We increased our community grant fund to support additional organizations whose mission aligns with our own: COVID 19 impact relief, equity and equality, and partnership opportunities including volunteering. Outreach projects this year included: a summer camp supply drive for Connections for the Homeless, the filling of purses with toiletries for women in domestic violence situations, and many other activities.
Expenses $94,978 · Grants $77,000
-
JLE-NS Volunteer Relation: Provides training and education to promote volunteer relations for the benefit of community programs and sponsorship activities. Members attended a three part speaking engagement series on the topic of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Board members participated in a team building retreat where they also learned League policies and procedures.
Expenses $6,660

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
