Mission and programs · 2022

Mission

The Carbon Cycle Institute's mission is to stop and reverse global warming by advancing natural, science-based solutions that remove atmospheric carbon while promoting environmental stewardship, social equity and economic sustainability.

  • The Carbon Cycle Institute (CCI) made significant strides towards advancing its goals and objectives for the year. CCI convened carbon farming workshops attended by on-farm conservation practitioners and engaged in a 3 part module training for carbon farm planners in partnership with Colorado State University. As a central component of our capacity strategy, CCI facilitated the development of seven regional Carbon Farming Hubs to serve as the central delivery mechanism for carbon farming planning, and implementation in California. Lastly, CCI worked with the counties of Marin and San Mateo to develop agricultural chapters for their climate action plans.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
