Stone-Tolan House and Museum: Since 1959, ACGC has had an annual financial commitment to the landscape and grounds of the Landmark Society's Stone-Tolan House and Museum. In 2025, $6,000 was granted for orchard maintenance. Every Spring, members spend a day maintaining the gardens and grounds. In 2016, inspired by the GCA challenge to attract bees, birds and butterflies, members installed a Pollinator Garden of native and heirloom plants.Green Visions: This community-based program provides work experience for at-risk youth in Rochester's JOSANA neighborhood. Participants plant and cultivate cut flower gardens on once vacant lots. Flowers are harvested and sold at retail locations across the city. Since 2016, ACGC has donated funds annually to cover the cost of employing student participants. Members have also contributed tools and other in-kind items to this project. In 2023, ACGC applied for GCA Common Ground Collaborative Initiative and was awarded $10,000 for Green Visions classroom development at the newly acquired house adjacent to the garden. Genesee Land Trust: Genesee Land Trust preserves and protects natural lands and waterways that enhance the quality of life in the greater Rochester region, providing wildlife habitat, locally grown food, and connections to nature for everyone. To help cover the costs of habitat restoration, specifically restoring the meadows that grassland birds rely on at the Kaiser-Manitou Beach Banding Station, ACGC donated $1,000 toward the contracting of hydro-axing services. In prior years, ACGC assisted with purchasing a field and brush mower which was instrumental in starting to restore this property.
