MARY'S MEALS IS A SUCCESSFUL GLOBAL MOVEMENT THAT TRANSFORMS THE LIVES OF CHRONICALLY POOR CHILDREN WITH A SIMPLE MEAL. WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES, MARY'S MEALS INTERNATIONAL ESTABLISHES SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMS THAT ATTRACT POOR CHILDREN INTO THE CLASSROOM, WHERE THEY RECEIVE AN EDUCATION THAT CAN FREE THEM FROM A LIFETIME OF POVERTY. SOURCING FOOD LOCALLY WHENEVER POSSIBLE, MARY'S MEALS OPERATES IN SOME OF THE WORLD'S POOREST, AND MOST REMOTE OR CONFLICT-RIDDEN COMMUNITIES. AT THE END OF 2022, MARY'S MEALS PROGRAMS WERE FEEDING 2,429,182 CHILDREN EVERY SCHOOL DAY ACROSS 18 COUNTRIES. THE COLLABORATIVE MARY'S MEALS FEEDING PROGRAM IS PARTICULARLY EFFICIENT AND SCALABLE, PROVIDING A MODEL THAT IS A SUSTAINABLE MEANS TO END WORLD HUNGER. (PLEASE SEE PAGE 38 FOR MORE INFORMATION) MARY'S MEALS USA PROVIDES GRANTS TO MARY'S MEALS INTERNATIONAL (MMI) TO FUND THE SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMS. THESE GRANTS TO MMI CONTRIBUTED WITH THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT TO PROVIDE THE MEALS IN SCHOOL OR THROUGH COMMUNITY DISTRIBUTION IN PROGRAMS ACROSS FIVE CONTINENTS IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES AT THE END OF 2022: BENIN, ECUADOR, ETHIOPIA, HAITI, INDIA, KENYA, LEBANON, LIBERIA, MADAGASCAR, MALAWI, MYANMAR, NIGER, SOUTH SUDAN, SYRIA, THAILAND, YEMEN, ZAMBIA, AND ZIMBABWE. THIS WORK IS SUPPORTED BY CONTINUED GROWTH OF FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE NETWORK OF MARY'S MEALS AFFILIATES.THE CONTINUED GROWTH OF MARY'S MEALS FEEDING PROGRAMS IN 2022 DEMONSTRATES THE EFFICIENCY OF THE MARY'S MEALS SCHOOL FEEDING MODEL, WHICH INVOLVES A NETWORK OF IN-COUNTRY VOLUNTEERS WHO PREPARE AND SERVE THE MEALS.BY GROWING THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE A DAILY MEAL TO THE POOREST AND MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN, MARY'S MEALS PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN ALLOWING A LIFE CHANGING EDUCATION THAT CAN BREAK THE CYCLE OF CHRONIC POVERTY, WHICH MANY TIMES IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF HUNGER.IN 2022, MARY'S MEALS IN CONJUNCTION WITH IN-COUNTRY PARTNER FEEDBACK MADAGASCAR EXPANDED TO REACH 10,000 CHILDREN ACROSS 25 PLACES OF EDUCATION. COMMUNITIES IN MADAGASCAR HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY CLIMATE CHANGE, INCREASED COST OF FOOD, POOR HARVESTS AND INCREASED COST OF LIVING, WHICH COMBINED REQUIRED URGENT HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE. APPROXIMATELY 42% OF CHILDREN UNDER AGE FIVE SUFFER CHRONIC MALNUTRITION.MARY'S MEALS EXPANDED REACH TO 5,972 NEW CHILDREN ACROSS FIVE SCHOOLS IN YEMEN THROUGH IN-COUNTRY PARTNER YEMEN AID. YEMEN CONTINUES TO BE THE WORST HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN THE WORLD DUE TO THE LONGSTANDING CIVIL WAR. OVER 13 MILLION CHILDREN FACE EXTREME FOOD INSECURITY WITH 2.3 MILLION ON THE BRINK OF STARVATION.IN JUNE 2022, MARY'S MEALS EXPANDED ITS SOUTH SUDAN SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM WITH IN-COUNTRY PARTNER, MARY HELP ASSOCIATION (MHA) TO PROVIDE DAILY SCHOOL MEALS TO CHILDREN WHOSE FAMILIES OFTEN STRUGGLE TO PROVIDE THEM WITH ENOUGH TO EAT. THIS EXPANSION ENABLED MARY'S MEALS TO REACH A FURTHER 6,272 CHILDREN ACROSS 12 SCHOOLS IN SOUTH SUDAN. THANKS TO THIS EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIP, MARY'S MEALS IS FEEDING A TOTAL OF 70,869 CHILDREN THOUGH THE DIOCESE OF RUMBEK, A REGION THAT SUFFERS FROM EXTREME FOOD INSECURITY, WITH 65% OF THE POPULATION WITH INSUFFICIENT FOOD INTAKE.MARY'S MEALS WAS FEEDING OVER 110,000 CHILDREN EVERY SCHOOL DAY IN TURKANA, KENYA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT (ECD) CENTERS. AS A RESULT OF THE HUNGER CRISIS WHICH HAS RESULTED IN 10.5 MILLION PEOPLE IN KENYA, HAVING INSUFFICIENT FOOD CONSUMPTION, MARY'S MEALS WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF KENYA TO IDENTIFY WAYS OF REACHING THOSE CHILDREN IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS WHO ARE IN GREAT NEED OF MARY'S MEALS. THE REQUIRED APPROVAL TO BEGIN FEEDING PROGRAMS IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN TURKANA WAS GIVEN BY THE GOVERNMENT OF KENYA, AND MARY'S MEALS IS FEEDING 60,000 ADDITIONAL CHILDREN.AS 2022 CAME TO A CLOSE, ZAMBIA FACED HIGH LEVELS OF FOOD INSECURITY WITH 4.9 MILLION MEMBERS OF THE POPULATION CURRENTLY FACING "CRISIS OR "ABOVE CRISIS" LEVELS OF FOOD-BASED COPING STRATEGIES, MEANING THEY ARE EITHER COMPROMISING OR MISSING A MEAL, OR UNABLE TO MEET THEIR DAILY DIETARY NUTRITIONAL NEEDS. IN RESPONSE, MARY'S MEALS HAS EXPANDED ITS ZAMBIA PROGRAM TO REACH 35,000 ADDITIONAL CHILDREN IN 83 SCHOOLS IN 2022. AS A RESULT, MARY'S MEALS REACHED A TOTAL OF 374,000 CHILDREN ACROSS MULTIPLE DISTRICTS IN ZAMBIA.WE ARE PLEASED TO SHARE THAT THE AREAS WHERE MARY'S MEALS EXPANDED WERE IN COUNTRIES THAT FACED A VARIETY OF SIGNIFICANT ISSUES INCLUDING CONFLICT, THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND INCREASING COSTS OF FOOD. COMBINED, THESE CHALLENGES NEGATIVELY IMPACT LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND CHILDREN IN PARTICULAR. THE WORK OF MARY'S MEALS DEMONSTRATES THE ORGANIZATION'S COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE SERVICES WHERE THEY ARE NEEDED MOST. MARY'S MEALS USA REMAINS THANKFUL FOR THE SUPPORT RECEIVED TO FEED EACH CHILD THAT IS ABLE TO GET A MEAL IN A PLACE OF EDUCATION.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
