Mission
Support for Child Care Centers and professionals in the Upper Valley Region of New Hampshire and Vermont.
Activities or mission (Part I)
Support for Child Care Centers and professionals in the Upper Valley Region of New Hampshire and Vermont. Through meetings, trainings, and email communications, the network has become a leader in the coordinated effort of support for children and families, by strengthening early care and education in the region.
-
The ECEA launched a very successful workforce building pilot that has since trained nearly 60 new, qualified child care teachers that allow as many as 600 child care slots to remain open. This program includes a sub pool component that allows trainees to gain experience and allow current staff to take time off. This first year of the program this sub pool covered 2366 hours of time off for hard working child care teachers. As part of our focus on recruiting new teachers to work in the child care workforce, we identified 148 interested applicants, interviewed 90 of them and placed more than 76% of them into a child care training program or directly into employment. The Child Development Associate credential coaching program provided over 2500 hours of training and assisted 34 people in the credential training process with 5 completing the credential this year for a total of 36 completing the credential through this program. Our organization engages 90% of licensed center-based child care programs and nearly 60% of all licensed/regulated family-based child care programs in our region. Membership has grown consistently since 2019. Membership includes nearly 100 programs in total with nearly 400 child care staff engaging in our programs.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
