Mission
THE MISSION OF JOSHPROVIDES IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THOSE LIVING WITH EPILEPSY OR OTHER SEIZURE DISORDERS THROUGH THE DISTRIBUTION OF SEIZURE ALERT DEVICES RECOMMENDED BY THE CLIENT'S PHYSICIAN; SPONSORING THE SEIZURE ALERT TRAINING OF SERVICE DOGS; OFFERING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH MEDICAL SERVICES FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF SEIZURES, AS WELL AS SAFETY DEVICES SUCH AS HELMETS, COOLING VESTS AND OTHER MEDICALLY NECESSITATED ITEMS; AND AWARDING TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS THROUGH RIDE SHARE PROGRAMS, GAS CARDS AND BUS PASSES. IN ADDITION, JOSHPROVIDES STRIVES TO ELIMINATE THE STIGMA AND SOCIAL ISOLATION ASSOCIATED WITH EPILEPSY THROUGH COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND EPILEPSY AWARENESS AND SPONSORING A VIRTUAL EPILEPSY SUPPORT GROUP THAT MEETS TWICE A MONTH.

PROVIDING ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE LIVING WITH EPILEPSY AND OTHER SEIZURE DISORDERS.

IN 2024, JOSHPROVIDES RECEIVED 1,228 INQUIRIES FOR INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE. THE ORGANIZATION WAS ABLE TO AWARD 290 GRANTS AT A TOTAL COST OF $117,460. THESE GRANTS INCLUDED: FIVE (5) SEIZURE RESPONSE DOGS; EIGHTY-ONE (81) SEIZURE ALERT DEVICES INCLUDING THE FDA APPROVED EPIMONITOR WATCH, EMFIT MOVEMENT MONITORK, AND SAMI3 MOTION VIDEO MONITOR; NINETY-FOUR (94) MEDICAL SERVICES GRANTS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, HELMETS, AND DOCTOR VISITS; SIXTY-EIGHT (68) TRANSPORTATION GRANTS FOR CLIENTS TO GET TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS; AND FORTY-TWO (42) GRANTS FOR OUR EPILEPSY SUPPORT GROUP. THE EPILEPSY SUPPORT GROUP HELD TWENTY-TWO (22) SESSIONS DURING THE YEAR AND HAD FOUR FAMILY DINNERS, ONE SPONSORED HOLIDAY LIGHTS TOUR, AND THREE TRANQUIL TUESDAY SESSIONS AT SELBY GARDENS.
