Mission and programs · 2023
Mission
WRAP was created to expose and eliminate the root causes of civil and human rights abuses of people experiencing poverty and homelessness in our communities.
-
Community Organizing: WRAP members identify issues of concern to homeless people through street outreach. WRAP member groups then work for change on the issues identified. In 2023, WRAP members focused on some of the laws that criminalize people attempting to survive unhoused. Our member groups continue to join together in an effort to stop this criminalization. WRAP convened 24 member meetings and 1 face-to-face member gathering.
Expenses $478,289 · Revenue $364,843
-
Public Education: WRAP members engaged in public education through speaking at community meetings, writing op-eds, and presenting at conferences and universities. WRAP also created 28 new pieces of artwork, published 31 newsletters. WRAP also created, printed, and shipped 1000 WRAP t-shirts to member groups.
Expenses $128,195
-
Legal and Policy: WRAP members continue to attempt to make change at the federal, state, and local levels, with a focus on policies that increase homelessness numbers and make it more difficult for people to survive unhoused. WRAP is also working with other organizations to develop legal clinics for homeless people to access legal representation.
Expenses $44,248

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
