TRAUMA-INFORMED PROGRAM GIRLS TALK: GIRLS TALK SUPPORTS 9TH12TH-GRADE GIRLS WITH HISTORIES OF CHILDHOOD TRAUMA. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT POVERTY AND TRAUMA ARE DEEPLY INTERCONNECTED POVERTY INCREASES EXPOSURE TO TRAUMA, AND UNADDRESSED TRAUMA MAKES IT HARDER TO BREAK FREE FROM POVERTY. WITHOUT INTERVENTION, TRAUMATIZED CHILDREN OFTEN BECOME TRAUMATIZED ADULTS, PERPETUATING THE CYCLE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. BY ADDRESSING TRAUMA DURING HIGH SCHOOL, WE HELP GIRLS DEVELOP COPING MECHANISMS, BUILD HEALTHIER RELATIONSHIPS, AND ACCESS ESSENTIAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS. THIS PROGRAM EMPOWERS THEM TO MAKE POSITIVE LIFE CHANGES, PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION OR CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, AND ACHIEVE GREATER FINANCIAL STABILITY.
