Mission
RAISE AND STEWARD FUNDS NECESSARY TO IMPROVE HEALTH AND LIVES IN COMMUNITIES SERVED BY PRESBYTERIAN HEALTHCARE SERVICES, A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION, PROVIDING HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO COMMUNITIES IN NEW MEXICO.
-
PROGRAM SERVICE ACTIVITY #1 The Foundation-funded Presbyterian Robert Wertheim Hospice House was completed in 2022 and had a limited, "soft" opening as hiring and operations ramped up. The $3.6 million facility was funded entirely with philanthropy. The 10-bed facility is projected to serve up to 300 patients a year when fully operational. It is the only full-service, residential hospice facility in central New Mexico and fills a long-standing need in the community for residential hospice care.
Expenses $3,715,000 · Grants $3,715,000
-
PROGRAM SERVICE ACTIVITY #2 Philanthropy is funding half the cost of a new, $3.0 million warm water therapy pool, the Presbyterian Rehabilitation Services Duane and Barbara Trythall Aquatic Therapy Natatorium. The Trythall Natatorium, an addition to the Presbyterian Healthplex, is one of few publicly available warm water pools in the community. Warm water therapy is an especially effective rehabilitation for improved mobility and treating a wide range of conditions.
Expenses $752,915 · Grants $752,915
-
PROGRAM SERVICE ACTIVITY #3 The Foundation has provided considerable funding in recent years to Presbyterian Community Health efforts to address social determinants of health (such as food, housing, transportation and other basic needs) that affect overall health/well-being. Funds totaling $431,446 were awarded in 2022 with significant support for Community Health priorities such as the Food Farmacy program, a referral-based food pantry program; virtual-based Community Health education courses, which provide fitness, healthy cooking and other instruction; and emergency patient assistance funds for transportation, housing and other needs affecting health and employment. The Laughter is the Best Medicine gala raised $477,000 for the Peer Support program, which helps patients with substance use disorder.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
