Activities or mission (Part I)

Lead believers into spiritual maturity & active service for Christ in the church and the world.

  • Mobile Technology Outreach GOTANDEM IS A MOBILE, DAILY DISCIPLESHIP EXPERIENCE THAT PROVIDES PERSONALIZED BIBLICAL CONTENT DIRECTLY THROUGH ANDROID OR IOS MOBILE APPLICATIONS OR EMAIL. OVER THE PAST SIX YEARS, GOTANDEM HAS IMPACTED THE LIVES OF MORE THAN 450,000 USERS. WHILE THE BREADTH OF SUCH OUTREACH IS ENCOURAGING, WHAT IS REALLY EXCITING IS THE BASE OF 30,000 USERS WHO ARE FOCUSED ON DAILY SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP. FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN THE APP FOR AT LEAST 6 WEEKS, EXAMPLES OF LIFE CHANGES ARE 55% EXPERIENCE LESS STRUGGLE WITH DESTRUCTIVE THOUGHTS, 51% HAVE LESS STRUGGLE WITH BEING SPIRITUALLY STALLED, AND 41% STRUGGLE LESS WITH LUST/PORNOGRAPHY. ALONG WITH THESE DECREASES IN UNWANTED BEHAVIOR, PEOPLE WHO ENGAGE WITH THE BIBLE AT THE POWER OF 4 LEVEL ARE MORE THAN TWICE AS LIKELY TO SHARE FAITH WITH OR DISCIPLE OTHERS AND MORE THAN FOUR TIMES MORE LIKELY TO GIVE TO CHURCH. FOR THOSE IN THE APP FOR AT LEAST 12 WEEKS, IT HAS SUCCESSFULLY MOVED OVER 80% WITH NO WEEKLY BIBLE ENGAGEMENT TO NOW ENGAGING THE BIBLE 4 OR MORE TIMES PER WEEK. THROUGH SCIENTIFICALLY SIGNIFICANT RESEARCH, THIS "POWER OF 4" GOAL IS TRANSFORMATIONAL. THE LIFE OF SOMEONE WHO ENGAGES SCRIPTURE 4 OR MORE DAYS PER WEEK LOOKS RADICALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE LIFE OF SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT. IN FACT, THE LIVES OF CHRISTIANS WHO DO NOT ENGAGE THE BIBLE MOST DAYS OF THE WEEK ARE STATISTICALLY THE SAME AS THE LIVES OF NON-BELIEVERS.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)

Schedule J, Part I, Line 1a First-class or charter travel
First-class travel: At times, business class travel is used for long-haul international trips for designated employees (with CEO approval.) This allows employees to "hit the ground running" to accomplish more in less time- maximizing the employee's effectiveness while minimizing the time needed to be spent in the foreign country. Multiple destinations can also be visited by the individual on the same trip in less time when compared to the multiple trips and extra days on location required by economy class travel. This is not treated as taxable income.
Schedule J, Part I, Line 1a Travel for companions
Travel for Spouse Volunteers: Corporate Chief Executive Officer, Arnold Cole's spouse volunteer travels with him on occasion in order to assist with business related tasks of the organization. These tasks include, but are not limited to: public relations activities for BTTB; customer service at book or information displays; advocacy for BTTB's program activities in fundraising meetings; other communication and/or prayer support with donors and listeners; and administrative support. If the spouse volunteer travel is deemed business related by leadership, it is not treated as taxable income.

Part I's answers as filed. A line not listed was left unanswered; on lines 1a and 3 that means the box was not checked.
