Mission and programs · 2022

Mission

Habitat For Humanity is a Christian non-profit organization of hands-on professionals, volunteers, and future homeowners working together to renovate or build simple, decent, affordable housing and to ultimately make decent shelter a matter of community conscience and action.

  • Habitat works in partnership with families in need of adequate shelter to build simple, decent homes. The homes are then sold to Habitat's partner families, at no profit and with no interest charged. Partner families invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving "Fund For Humanity" that is used to build more homes.

    Expenses $404,390

  • The Lakeland Habitat For Humanity ReStore is a home improvement center that sells quality new and recycled items at a fraction of the common cost. Over the past thirteen years, the ReStore has recycled thousands of tons of material, keeping it out of our local landfills and ReStore proceeds go back into building new Habitat houses.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
