Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

Health Connected equips young people and trusted adults with knowledge and skills to thoughtfully navigate the intersections of relationships, bodies, and digital well-being.

Activities or mission (Part I)

Health Connected equips young people and trusted adults with knowledge and skills to thoughtfully navigate the intersections of relationships, bodies, and digital well-being. We do this through three programs: Youth Services (classroom-based puberty and sexual health instruction), Provider Services (training and technical assistance for schools and youth providers), and Parent Services (support for parents and families).

  • Youth Services: Health Connected provides classroom-based instruction on puberty and sexual health to schools and districts in the Bay Area. During the 2024-2025 school year, Health Connected served 13838 students through the Youth Services Program.

    Expenses $1,235,071 · Revenue $1,034,440

  • Provider Services: Health Connected provides teacher training and technical assistance for schools, districts, and community-based organizations seeking to implement puberty education or sexual health instruction for their students. Health Connected trained 673 teachers during the 2024-2025 school year reaching an estimated 20,190 students across California.

    Expenses $362,017

  • Other Programs

    Expenses $273,737

  • Parent Services: Recognizing that sexual health education extends well beyond the classroom, Health Connected provides workshops and informational sessions for parents to learn about the information presented in classrooms and help build their skills and confidence as they engage in ongoing conversations about sexual health and relationships with their kids at home. During the 2024-2025 school year, Health Connected served 4,316 parents across California through the Parent Services Program.

    Expenses $73,741 · Revenue $356,290

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
