Mission
Natural History Institute is organized to provide leadership and resources for a revitalized practice of natural history that integrates art, science, and humanities to promote the health and well-being of humans and the rest of the natural world.
Activities or mission (Part I)
Withheld by Nonprofiteer: this text may name a private individual.
-
Lectures, Hikes, and Workshops:The largest financial commitment to providing free public programs aimed at fulfilling our mission were lectures, hikes, workshops and a tour. We organized and conducted 17 public talks in our building. We also conducted 9 free webinars. Each webinar and talk were videoed, and the video was hosted free of charge. In 2023 our YouTube channel witnessed phenomenal growth and surpassed the threshold for monetization in November 2023. See additional significant activities in Schedule O ).
Expenses $233,669 · Revenue $39,511
As filed on the 2023 return. A text marked withheld matched a screen for wording that may name a private individual, such as an honorific or "in memory of". Most of what it withholds names no one; it is withheld so that what does is never shown.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
