Mission and programs · 2023

Mission

Our mission is to advance the well-being of children, promote access to high quality pediatric health care, and ensure the long-term viability of childrens hospitals.

  • Analysis and advocacy related to state and federal legislation affecting the delivery of pediatric health care services. CCHA actively analyzes proposed bills and policy changes to ensure the effect will not be detrimental to pediatric providers and advocates based on established policy positions. CCHA focuses on preserving access to quality care for all children as well as appropriate financing for patients and providers.

  • Research and development of legislative proposals and amendments affecting the delivery of pediatric health care services. CCHA often drafts amendments and legislative proposals in response to a proposed policy change or to address identified areas of need to assist pediatric providers in their mission to provide quality health care.

  • Provide coordination, communication and liaison to federal and state health care agencies and departments with respect to policies and issues affecting pediatric health care. Officials of both state and federal agencies often call CCHA to answer questions, comment on proposed regulations and improve the coordination of policy implementation among all those affected by the policy.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
