Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

The New Braunfels Angels mission is to walk alongside children, youth, and families in foster care community by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. (continued on Schedule O, statment 1.)

  • Our Love box (R) programs builds community and provides radical support for foster familes thorough international giving, relationship building and mentorship. The program provides wrap around support for the entire family. Voluneeers meet with families on a mothly basis to help provide support, consistentency, and normalcy as well as friendships and encourgement to the families they serve. There are 25 Love Box groups for a total of 100 kids being matched through Love Box. The program had a back to school Shoe Drive delivering shoes and snacks to children in the program. Christmas Holidays gift drive resulted in holiday bakets to all the families. Foster Care Support and emergency funds helped with sudden costs for opening foster homes (like carseats and strollers). The program also helps with background shceks and required training for foster care support participants who are Love Box volunteers, It is amazing if they can become respte qualified and be able to babysit

    Expenses $13,799

  • giving foster families a break from caretaking, The program has taken the statistic of 50% foster homes closing in one year and increased the statistic to 83% keeping their homes open longer than a year. Great improvement for a great program.

    Expenses $11,268

  • Our Dare to Dream (D2D)program offers on-on-one mentorship to youth in care ages 11-22, empowering them to develop skills, pursue passions, and achieve their goals through supportive relationships.May foster children are simply released from a home when they turn 18. While educatinoal opportunities may be available to them, the resource coordination is ofter beyond the skills and knowledge of the youth. This program trains mentors on foster care and resources that are available allowing them to support the youth on what the youth desires as next steps. 27 youth were matched through D2D. D2D trained and matched 27D2D adult mentors. This program can help the youth find ways to actually attend colleg4 and other programs where the tuition may be getting covered.Actually living while atteding those programs required more skills and support. Dare to Dream gives youth the support they need to believe in their dreams and make them happen.

    Expenses $6,141

  • INTENTIONAL GIVING: Give thoughtful and personalized resources, gifts, and care packages that meet the real needs of the child and their entire family. RELATIONSHIP BUILDING: Devote time and energy to fostering healthy relationships that promote healing through connections and interpersonal bonding. MENTORSHIP: Equip and empower the youth in our programs to be prepared for independent living, accompolish tailored goals, build connections and reach their fullest potential.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
