Mission

To promote and support education and assist and motivate the diverse future leaders of our country. We help the less fortunate student population in San Diego.

  • San Diego Foundation to establish the San Ysidro Women's Club Grace A. Kojima Endowment to annually distribute Scholarship and Incentive Awards to middle school 8th grade and high school students in San Ysidro schools in the Sweetwater School District.

    Expenses $250,000 · Grants $250,000

  • Scholarship Awards- Each year for the past 22 years our SYWC has been awarding scholarships to the students of San Ysidro High School. To apply for our scholarships students must meet the following: Students must have attended San Ysidro School District, have a 3.0 Grade Point Average or above, write an autobiography, and have two letters of recommendation. A committee of five or more read and select the students to be awarded. We have awarded well over 500 scholarships ranging from $500 to most recently $1,000.

    Expenses $19,200 · Grants $19,200

  • Teddy Bear Project - For the last 22 years our SYWC has been distributing Teddy Bears in December to all the children in San Ysidro. Our hope is to bring a little cheer and happiness to the students who might not have as much as other children. Our club has distributed over 17,000 over the last 22 years, with the average of 1,000 each year. We also distribute books and blankets.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
