Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)

Schedule J, Part I, Line 1a Travel for companions
The organization provides spousal travel to board members so their spouses can attend one board meeting annually to provide substantial services regarding necessary input on BSF class activities, programs and development. The organization also occasionally provides for travel for the spouse of a board member to attend BSF leadership events conducted for all lay volunteers essential for ministry evaluation and development. All travel is considered to be for bona fide business purpose and is therefore treated as nontaxable.
Schedule J, Part I, Line 1a Discretionary spending account
Discretionary account is funded with $25,000 per fiscal year and is available to the Executive Director to use for purposes that further the mission of BSF. This might include donations to other organizations, or benevolence payments on behalf of BSF employees. In the event it benefits an employee, payments are treated as additional compensation and taxes are withheld. The discretionary account does not benefit the Executive Director directly.
Schedule J, Part I, Line 4b Supplemental nonqualified retirement plan
Rabbi Trust Distributions as follows during calendar year that ended within this fiscal year: Richard Mazur $90,595 and Robert Birkeneder $55,333.
Schedule J, Part I, Line 7 Non-fixed payments
The organization provided a discretionary bonus to officers and highly compensated employees. All bonuses are approved by the board of directors.
