Primary exempt purpose

TO PROMOTE ACTIVE AGING BY OPTIMIZING OPPORTUNITIES FOR HEALTH, ENGAGEMENT, AND SAFETY WHILE REMOVING BARRIERS THAT PREVENT OUR CITIZENS FROM REMAINING IN THEIR HOMES AS THEY AGE.

  • WE OFFER TWO TRANSPORTATION PROGRAMS FOR AGE 60+. OUR MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM HAS 19 VOLUNTEER DRIVERS AND PROVIDED 2,300 MEDICAL RIDES IN 2023. OUR SHUTTLE PROGRAM TRANSPORTS FOLKS TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS AND PROVIDED 838 RIDES IN 2024.

  • WE OFFER A MONTHLY COMMUNITY LUNCHEON. OUR VOLUNTEERS COOK AND CATER THE MEALS TO APPROXIMATELY 85-90 ATTENDEES. THIS PROGRAM HAS A DUAL BENEFIT AS IT PROVIDES MUCH NEEDED SOCIALIZATION FOR OUR OLDER FOLKS.

  • OUR HANDY NEIGHBORS PROGRAM IS STAFFED WITH VOLUNTEERS WHO ATTEND TO REQUESTS OF OLDER SACO RESIDENTS WHO NEED INSTALLATIONS OF ITEMS, I.E., GRAB BARS, KNOX BOXES, ETC. WE ALSO DO SMALL REPAIRS FOR FOLKS AS WELL.
