Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

- Schedule J, Part I, Line 4b Supplemental nonqualified retirement plan
- The Foundation entered into a supplemental benefit agreement, 457(f) plan, effective June 1, 2009 to pay Alex Nyerges additional amounts upon his retirement. As of August 1, 2011 all contributions to this account are 100% vested. EACH YEAR, THE FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTES THE DIFFERENCE between $100,000 and the amount credited under the 457(b) plan to a supplemental benefit account. NO AMOUNT WAS CONTRIBUTED IN 2024. EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2017, THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED AND ASSETS WERE TRANSFERRED TO A PLAN CONTROLLED BY THE VIRGINIA MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS.
- Schedule J, Part I, Line 1a Compensation
- Tom Gutenberger is provided housing as a condition of his employment that meets the requirements of IRC Section 119 and is therefore not included in his taxable income. The foundation also paid club dues on Tom Gutenberger's behalf that were treated as taxable compensation on his W-2.
- Schedule J, Part II
- During fiscal year 2011, the Foundation entered into an operating agreement with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, an unrelated organization under IRS guidelines. The operating agreement states that the Director of the Museum shall also serve as the COO of the Foundation and the CFO of the Museum shall also serve as the CFO of the Foundation. However, these individuals will be considered employees of the Museum, not the Foundation. As part of a supplemental support agreement between the Foundation and an officer, the Foundation makes payments to the Museum for supplemental salary amounts which are paid by the Museum to the officer as part of their salary. the salary supplement provided to the officer by the Foundation were included as taxable compensation in the officer's W-2 at the Museum. The operating agreement was amended effective November 16, 2021 with no changes to this arrangement.
Part I's answers as filed. A line not listed was left unanswered; on lines 1a and 3 that means the box was not checked.
