Activities or mission (Part I)

To produce radically inclusive programming at the intersection of advocacy, education, and entertainment that cultivates and celebrates new work, emerging artists, diverse audiences, and fresh ideas.

  • Blindspot Collective develops transformative theatre that amplifies marginalized voices, illuminates untold stories, bridges disparate experiences, and energizes vulnerable communities. In 2020, the Organization provided educational programming to approximately 6,000 K-12 students through arts integration and arts enhancement programs, as well as "Safa's Story", a touring production that explores the complexity of racism and indifference. The Organization also created three world premiere multimedia projects - "Walks of Life", "RefractionsX and "Good Trouble" that served over 5,000 audience members in San Diego and across the country amidst the pandemic.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
