INCLUSION BOOKS:MIKAYLA'S VOICE HAS PUBLISHED FOUR CHILDREN'S BOOKS WRITTEN AND ILLUSTRATED BY KIDS FOR OTHER KIDS ABOUT HAVING A FRIEND WITH A DISABILITY. MIKAYLA WAS BORN WITH A BRAIN INJURY (OUR FRIEND MIKAYLA), JEFFREY HAS DOWN SYNDROME (HIGH FIVES AND A BIG HEART), BRADY IS CHALLENGED BY AUTISM (SUPER BRADY ~ ALWAYS ON THE MOVE!), AND DOT HAS A YELLOW SPOT (THE SPOT), BUT THESE BOOKS ARE NOT ABOUT THE MAIN CHARACTERS OR THEIR DISABILITIES. THEY ARE ABOUT FRIENDSHIP. AND KINDNESS.INCLUSION ART PROJECTS: STUDENTS OF ALL ABILITIES WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE LARGE- SCALE ARTWORK (WHEELS OF FRIENDSHIP) OR SMALL INTERACTIVE ARTWORK (KAYA'S KALEIDOSCOPE) TO CELEBRATE INCLUSION IN SCHOOL. THEIR ART IS PERMANENTLY DISPLAYED IN SCHOOL AS A BEAUTIFUL REMINDER THAT IT IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE TO INCLUDE EVERYONE!MIKAYLA'S BOOKSHELF ENRICHMENT WEBSITE:"MIKAYLA'S BOOKSHELF" INCLUDES ELECTRONIC VERSIONS OF ALL FOUR BOOKS MAKING IT EASIER TO SHARE THEM WITH ALL CLASSES, STUDENTS, AND FAMILIES. BUT THE BOOKS ARE JUST THE FOUNDATION UPON WHICH WE HAVE BUILT ADDITIONAL ENRICHMENT LESSONS WITH THE THEMES OF KINDNESS AND FRIENDSHIP FOR TEACHERS AND OLDER STUDENTS TO INTRODUCE AND/OR REINFORCE MIKAYLA'S VOICE MESSAGE AND MISSION WITH YOUNGER STUDENTS.

SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES: MIKAYLA'S VOICE DELIVERS SCHOOL-WIDE ASSEMBLIES, WHERE WE SHARE THE BOOK OUR FRIEND MIKAYLA, AND ARE JOINED BY A CO-PRESENTER (STUDENT OR YOUNG ADULT WITH A DISABILITY) WHO ALSO SHARES THEIR PERSONAL STORY. WE ENCOURAGE ALL QUESTIONS, PROVIDING HONEST ANSWERS AND FURTHER DISCUSSION ABOUT HAVING A FRIEND WITH A DISABILITY. EACH PRESENTATION CONCLUDES WITH AN INVITATION FOR ALL STUDENTS TO SERVE AS MIKAYLA'S "VOICE."MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL MENTOR PROGRAM:WHEN WE DELIVER OUR PROGRAM IN JR. & SR. HIGH SCHOOLS, WE ENCOURAGE STAFF TO ALLOW STUDENTS TO BECOME MENTORS TO THE YOUNGER STUDENTS WITHIN THEIR DISTRICT. MENTORS USE OUR BOOKS AND ENRICHMENT WEBSITE TO SHARE MIKAYLA'S VOICE MISSION THROUGH READING ONE OF OUR FOUR BOOKS AND COMPLETING ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES. OUR PHILOSOPHY HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO INSPIRE AND EMPOWER CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS TO INCLUDE EVERYONE AND TEACH OTHERS TO DO THE SAME.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
