Activities or mission (Part I)

TO RAISE THE QUALITY OF THE PRACTICE OF ANESTHESIOLOGY, TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE AND SAFETY THROUGH EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY, AND TO DISSEMINATE SCIENTIFIC PROGRESS IN ANESTHESIOLOGY.

  • THE SUCCESS OF OUR GROUP IS UNMATCHED TO MANY OTHER MEDICAL SOCIETIES IN ARIZONA. THE AZSA HAS A LARGE FOCUS ON ADVOCACY TO FIGHT BILLS THAT ARE AFFECTING SPECIFICALLY ANESTHESIOLOGISTS. THIS PAST JANUARY WE HAD OVER 20 MEETINGS WITH LEGISLATORS TO HEAR THE SOCIETIES SIDE OF THINGS AND IT WAS A MAJOR SUCCESS. THIS GROUP ALSO CONTINUES TO FIND WAYS TO BRING VALUE TO THEIR MEMBERS BY FINDING WHAT IS MOST VALUABLE TO THEM. THE BOARD MEETS QUARTERLY AND HOLD GREAT DISCUSSIONS ON WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO THE SOCIETY AND HOW TO KEEP IT SUSTAINABLE AND IN COMPLIANCE AT ALL TIMES.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
