Activities or mission (Part I)
The Jewish Community Relations Council is the public affairs arm of the organized Jewish community, building consensus on issues of concern, and then communicating those interests to policy makers, faith and ethnic communities, civic leaders, educators and the media.
-
Examples of JCRC's policy work: JCRC works in coalitions with groups that advocate for civil and voting rights, housing accessibility, human and social services, immigrant and refugee support, quality schools, accessible health care and reproductive rights, church-state separation, and policies that benefit the most vulnerable, including children, disabled, and elderly. JCRC advocates in support of strengthening the relationship between Indiana and Israel, as well as policies that combat discrimination, bigotry, antisemitism, and the delegitimization of Israel. Examples of JCRC programming: Student to Student - Jewish teens speak to classrooms of their high school peers about Judaism, Jewish life, customs, holidays, as well as antisemitism, the holocaust, and Israel. Teacher Training & School Engagement - Professional development for educators to use accurate curricular materials to teach about jews, Jewish history, antisemitism, the Holocaust, Israel, and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Multi-Faith Dialogues - Connect members of the Jewish community to members of the Christian, Muslim, Hindu communities. Intergroup Engagement - Connect members of the Jewish community to members of the Black, Latino, LGBTQ+ communities. Community Programming - JCRC-led programs to inform on issues pertinent to the Jewish community, including on hate crimes, gun violence, and education. Holocaust Education - State of Indiana Holocaust Remembrance Program, in cooperation with the Indiana Civil Rights Commission; Holocaust education for the Jewish and wider community; Holocaust Speaker's Bureau training and speaking opportunities.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
