THE FOCUS FOR 2024 WAS ON A PROJECT CALLED SAVE THE WETLANDS. THIS INCLUDES WETLANDS RESTORATION ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE REMOVAL OF INVASIVE PLANT SPECIES AND THE PROPAGATION OF NATIVE HAWAIIAN PLANT SPECIES TO ENHANCE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE WETLANDS, WHICH IS CRUCIAL FOR THE CATCHMENT, HOLDING, SIFTING, AND FILTERING OF DIRTY STORMWATER. THIS PROCESS ACTS AS A FLOOD MITIGATION EFFORT WITHIN OUR SCOPE OF WORK IN MID-KIHEI. WE HAD INCLUDED WATER QUALITY TESTING AND MONITORING, SOIL TESTING, NATIVE HAWAIIAN CULTURAL PROTOCOLS INCLUDED AT ALL ACTIVITIES, AND NATIVE HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE OLELO MOON (PLANTING) CALENDARS AND KEIKI (CHILDREN'S) WORKBOOKS DESIGNED, PRINTED, AND DISTRIBUTED AT ALL EVENTS WE HOST OR ATTEND. WE DO SEVERAL VOLUNTEER CLEANUP DAYS, OUTREACH TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND COMMUNITY, SHARING WHAT WE DO AND INVITING PEOPLE TO ATTEND, PARTICIPATE, AND/OR DONATE TO OUR ORGANIZATION. PARTICIPATION RANGES FROM 10 TO 50 PEOPLE PER MONTHLY CLEANUP. EVENTS INCLUDED A MAUI WORLD WETLANDS DAY, WHICH HAD AN EDUCATIONAL KIOSK WITH NATIVE BIRD MODELS THAT DEPEND ON OUR WETLANDS, WHICH WAS LOCATED AT THE MAUI OCEAN CENTER. WE DID TOURS OF KEALIA POND AND KANAHA PONDS, AS WELL AS WETLANDS ON THE ISLAND. WE HAVE SEVERAL PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS WITH OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS LIKE MALAMA MAUI NUI, AND WE WERE INVITED TO ATTEND A PRESTIGIOUS AND RARE GROUP CALLED NUALOLO KAI ON KAUAI, WHERE THEY SPECIALIZE IN CULTURAL TRADITIONAL WAYS OF CARING FOR SACRED PLACES, LIKE WETLANDS. WE ALSO PARTNERED WITH THE BOTANICAL GARDENS OF KAUAI FOR NATIVE SEEDS, PLANT EDUCATION, AND ACCESSIBILITY.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
