Mission and programs · 2022

Mission

Camp Haven, Inc. works to rebuild the lives of homeless men in Indian River County by providing temporary residency along with employment, psychological and personal counseling.

Activities or mission (Part I)

Rebuild the lives of men: providing housing & employment, psychological & personal counseling

  • We assist men in rebuilding their lives by holding them accountable, providing transitional housing, education, stability and encouragement by promoting a sense of community and brotherhood. We teach them to get and keep community-based employment, save money, pay child support, get along with others and take personal and financial responsibilty for their lives. This year we started with 13 men, and added 14. Ten of the 12 men who departed the program completed it successfully. Successful clients are now living in the community, have increased their credit score and savings account, are maintaining and advancing their careers and are establishing relationships. Two of the men were unsuccessful, returning to their self-destructive ways. Overall, this is an 80% success rate for which we thank our donors, staff and board.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
