Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)
- PART I, LINE 1A
- THE EFI FOUNDATION TRAVEL POLICY IS TO USE COACH TRAVEL. FLIGHTS OF OVER 5 HOURS CAN BE REIMBURSED FOR BUSINESS CLASS. THE CEO AND PRESIDENT IS EXEMPT FROM THESE RESTRICTIONS.
- PART I, LINE 1B
- EFI FOUNDATION EXPECTS EMPLOYEES TO ACT RESPONSIBLY AND PROFESSIONALLY WHEN INCURRING AND SUBMITTING COSTS. EFI FOUNDATION WILL REIMBURSE EMPLOYEES FOR REASONABLE EXPENSES ON PRE-APPROVED BUSINESS. EMPLOYEES WHO INCUR APPROVED EXPENSES (IN CASH OR ON PERSONAL CHARGE CARDS) ON BEHALF OF EFI FOUNDATION MAY SUBMIT THOSE EXPENSES FOR REIMBURSEMENT. ALL EXPENSES FOR REIMBURSEMENT MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY RECEIPTS (HARD OR DIGITAL COPIES) AND A COMPLETED REIMBURSEMENT FORM. REIMBURSEMENT FORMS CAN BE FOUND IN THE OPERATIONS FORMS FOLDER ON SHAREPOINT. EMPLOYEES SHOULD EMAIL RECEIPTS AND FORMS TO EFI FOUNDATION'S ACCOUNTING INBOX ([email protected]), CC'ING THE EMPLOYEE'S SUPERVISOR AND THE OPERATIONS MANAGER FOR APPROVAL. IN THE INSTANCE THAT A RECEIPT IS LOST, EMPLOYEES CAN PROVIDE CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS INCLUDING THE EXPENSE AND CORRESPONDING DATES AS A FORM OF BACKUP. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A PRACTICE TO BE FOLLOWED ON A REGULAR BASIS AND IF AN EMPLOYEE REPEATEDLY FAILS TO PROVIDE RECEIPTS, EXPENSE REPORTS CAN BE REJECTED DUE TO LACK OF POLICY ADHERENCE. IF AN EMPLOYEE CAN CALL AND RECEIVE A COPY OF THEIR RECEIPT, THIS STEP MUST BE TAKEN/ATTEMPTED BEFORE CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. CASH EXPENSES WITHOUT RECEIPTS WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED. REIMBURSEMENT REQUESTS SHOULD, WHENEVER POSSIBLE, BE SUBMITTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE DATE THE EXPENSE IS INCURRED.
Part I's answers as filed. A line not listed was left unanswered; on lines 1a and 3 that means the box was not checked.
