Mission and programs · 2023
Mission
In all our work, we strive to continually increase our awareness of the many intersections of violence, power, privilege, and oppression affecting all of us including issues of sexism, transphobia, racism, and capitalism. Built upon a feminist, intersectional, and anti oppression framework, we are guided by the following beliefs: If we are adaptive in our work, then we can better respond to the emerging needs of the people we support. If we engage marginalized communities, then we will increase our cultural humility as we learn from and with our participants. If we sustain a leaderful organization, then we will create a culture of shared power. We work toward collective liberation: everyone deserves to feel safe in their bodies, their homes, and their communities.

One component of the grant is working together with community partners from outside academia to strengthen the partnership. The goal was to figure out a way to center the community more in their screening - doing things like interviewing patients about what they liked when they were asked about IPV in the hospital, what they didn't like, and what we could be doing better.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
