Mission and programs · 2024
Mission
World Cares Center's mission is to reduce the harm, suffering, and loss caused by disasters through the empowerment of underserved, at risk communities to prevent everyday accidents and react as educated and skilled ready responders when disasters occur.
-
World Cares Center ensures that those constituents are trained, prepared and ready to respond to crisis locally by leveraging existing resources. Through training, support, and coordination, WCC empowers these spontaneous volunteers and disconnected communities to effectively prepare for, respond to and recover from disaster by training thousands of citizens, community leaders and not-for-profit groups to work together during catastrophic times. We refer to this cadre of individuals as Ready Responders.World Cares Centers three focus areas are:I.Training citizens to be safe and effective disaster volunteers, and local leaders to emerge as disaster managers able to lead their constituents in a proactive educated and equipped manner. WCC works with these leaders to develop their own community response plans.II.Bridging the communication divide amongst stakeholders in the disaster response ecosystem through the provision of a virtual emergency operations center.III.Engaging all partners and trained community members in a physical disaster simulation and exercise to practice their skills and build upon lessons learned.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
