Primary exempt purpose
Advocate for undergraduate students at the UMN - TC
-
Event Grants - These are grants provided to student organizations at UMN-TC. The grants are used to help student groups fund their event. The grants are mainly used to help pay for events that the organizations are putting on as well as supplementing their general supplies costs. These grants help to support social educational and cultural experiences on campus. Unless approved by our legislative body all grants are under 1200 dollars.
-
Other expenses Programming. These include attendance at 2 Association of Big Ten Conferences a year at around $3,000 each a much larger Big Ten on the Hill Conference in Washington D.C. at about $6,000 as well as a lot of smaller initiatives and campaigns at the University of Minnesota campus such as to raise awareness for sexual assault prevention. These programs are all funded through our normal budget and are in-house so we do not give out grants for these programs_ The costs mainly go to the travel room rentals food and various items used in the campaigns such as t-shirts etc. Our programming events are put on and held as needed in regards to the demand and our success is measured in different ways as well. Sometimes we seek to get word and information out and other times we hold programs for students to come and feel welcomed on campus or have a safe space.
-
Civic Engagement - Our organization works to help students become more involved in the community. We host events to help students have their voices heard.
