Mission and programs · 2025
Mission
Maji Safi Group's mission is to promote health and disease prevention in underserved and impoverished areas through holistic community empowerment and by working predominantly with local women and youth.
-
Tanzania Program: Affiliated with Maji Safi Group, an international, non-governmental organization in Tanzania that provides awareness to the water, sanitation, and hygiene (wash) crisis, while also educating communities on how to prevent diseases. This life-saving education reduces water-borne and related diseases. Four major focus areas are supported, which are 1) Wash in healthcare facilities, 2) Menstrual hygiene health, 3) Information Communication Technology, and 4) Water, agriculture, sanitation and hygiene hubs. We still support many community outreach, radio programming, and operate a health hotline. In 2022 we reached tens of thousands of participants in person and millions more visa our media channels.
Expenses $383,307 · Grants $360,830
-
Awareness Raising Program: Presentations on the global wash crisis, our interventions, and getting involved are given to schools and universities, clubs and foundations, churches, art classes, and businesses. Tabling events are also a way to host fun activities, promote hand washing, spread awareness, and sign people up for our newsletter so they can watch us fulfill our mission. Tabling events are held at student centers, expos, symposiums, conferences, international holiday celebrations, and local stores and groceries. Reached approximately 500 people spreading awareness about the global wash crisis.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
