Mission and programs · 2022
Mission
Promote educational opportunities and events for our local communities that highlight benefits of Palm Beach county agriculture regarding food security, economic impacts adn environmental stewardship.
-
Palm Beach County is the largest agricutural county in the state of Florida. However, it is highly urbanized therefore during South Florida Fair we take the opportunity to educate the general public on the importance of agriculture and its impact on our county. The fair attracts over half a million people each year during its 14 day run. We promote our local agriculture by displaying what commodities are grown in our area as well as where they are grown.
-
Palm Beach County Farm Bureau supports youth involved in 4-H and FFA activities throughout the year. We have assisted students with irrigation systems at their FFA tree farms, provided scholarships, and supported their activities at the fair. It is important to mentor and educate students on the importance of agriculture and continue to encourage them to stay active in their agricultural communities.
-
Members attended a round table discussion with congressional aides to discuss policy impacts on growers and workers, regarding trade, water conservation, affects of NAFTA's trade practices on South Florida Farmers and Farm Bill. These types of meetings lead to collaborative efforts by elected officials and farmers to work towards the betterment of those engaged in agriculture.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
