Form 990 for tax year 2024

Filed by LOWCOUNTRY FOUNDATION FOR WOUNDED MILITARY HEROS.

This return was superseded by a later amendment. matched by us It is kept because history is preserved rather than replaced.

What the amendment changed

Compared with the latest return for 2024 , filed 7 March 2025. matched by us Only the return's totals, a 990-PF's accounting method and the names listed in Part VII (Part VIII on a 990-PF) are compared. We relate returns by organization, tax year and form, and order them by each return's own timestamp; the filer's own "amended return" checkbox is a separate fact.

Those are the same on the two returns, so the amendment changed something else.

Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

Our mission is to provide funds that directly support wounded military heroes through charitable programs reviewed, approved, and recommended by Birdies for the Brave, a PGA Tour Charities, Inc. affiliate. These programs are designed specifically for the individual needs of our wounded heroes as they return to active duty or assimilate back into the civilian population.

Activities or mission (Part I)

To raise funds to distribute to charitable organizations recognized under 501 (c)(3), like PGA Tour Charities, Inc. focusing on wounded military heroes from post 9/11 combat and from all branches of the US military to assist them and their families as they assimilate back into active duty or into the civilian population.

  • LFWMH raises funds via annual golf tournament registration fees, sponsorships, donations from businesses and individuals, auction item sales, and raffle ticket sales. We hold several events throughout the year. Three (3) things make our golf outings unique; (1) We invite Wounded Heroes, as our guests, to play with the paying foursomes. Wounded Heroes are those injured in post 9/11 combat (Purple Heart recipients), those who have or are suffering from PTSD, and those with traumatic brain injuries. (2) We provide our Wounded Hero guests with a 1-hour golf clinic before the event begins, and (3) for approximately twelve (12) years, the Special Forces Association Parachute Team performs at each of our Golf Classic events which includes a tandem jumper making a minimum donation of $500.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.

Grants on this return

  • To assist charities who support Post 9/11 combat wounded (Purple Heart recipients, those with traumatic brain injury or PTSD, etc.) Each year, our grants are made to Birdies for the Brave (B4B), a PGA Tour Charities Inc. affiliate. Our Board determines how much of our donation should go to each of the B4B charities we select. We ensure awards are given based on the criteria we have established and we approve where the donations are spent to ensure (to the extent possible) that our grants are supporting Wounded Heroes in , or with a connection to, the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry.
