Mission and programs · 2025
Mission
Ewalu Industries mission is to guide and inspire the next generation of homegrown leaders who put Hawaii first, in order to build an economically resilient Hawaii.
Activities or mission (Part I)
Ewalu Industries coordinates career exploration and training programs equipping local youth with skills to become future leaders through internships, workplace tours, guest speakers, and hands-on, career-connected learning.
-
To address limited access to career-connected learning for students across West Hawaii, Ewalu Industries implemented its Workforce Advancement Initiative, providing internships, career exposure, and skill-building opportunities in partnership with schools and industry. In 2025, the program delivered over 800 hours of work-based learning through 77 activities, including 41 career awareness and exposure experiences and 17 preparation and training opportunities. This engaged more than 2,750 students and 200 industry professionals. As a result, students reported increased career interest, stronger soft and technical skills, expanded professional networks, and, in some cases, job offers, scholarships, and clearer postsecondary plans, including giving back to their home community. These outcomes support the organizations mission to prepare local youth for the workforce and strengthen Hawaiis homegrown talent pipeline.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
