Mission
To enhance the self-esteem of children in need by providing them targeted financial assistance.
-
Millions of children living in poverty suffer not just physically, but emotionally. For example, when a child has to wear the same shirt to school several days in a row, or when he cannot pay the fee to join his classmates on the field trip, or when she cannot participate in graduation ceremonies for lack of funds to pay for senior dues, its embarrassing and heartbreaking for that child and furthermore, can result in a breakdown of confidence and self-esteem. Responding to requests from a national network of teachers and social workers from across the country, Alices Kids anonymously pays for such items in the belief that a little help can go a long way. The payment can be in the form of a check (as in the case of paying for a field trip or senior prom ticket) or a gift card (e.g., to pay for a new shirt, soccer cleats or eyeglasses.)

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
