OXFAM AMERICA ACTION FUND STRIVES TO END POVERTY AND INJUSTICE THROUGH LOBBYING AND ADVOCACY.
-
ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNANCE: OAAF COMBATS INEQUALITY, THE ROOT CAUSE OF POVERTY AND INJUSTICE, THROUGH LEGISLATIVE LOBBYING AND POLITICAL ADVOCACY. OAAF CONTINUED TO PUSH CONGRESS TO MAKE ROBUST INVESTMENTS IN FOREIGN ASSISTANCE FUNDING AFTER THE DISMANTLING OF USAID AND CUTS TO FOREIGN AID, WHICH RESULTED IN CONGRESS ALLOCATING $50B IN FUNDING FOR FOREIGN ASSISTANCE. OAAF HAS ENGAGED ON A SUITE OF TAX-RELATED LEGISLATION, ON ISSUES RANGING FROM TAXATION OF THE ULTRA-RICH AND STRENGTHENING CORPORATE TAX RATES AND ENFORCEMENT, WITH A FOCUS ON THE ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT'S RAMIFICATION FOR TAX FAIRNESS AND CUTS TO THE SOCIAL SAFETY NET. OAAF ADVOCATED FOR FEDERAL LABOR POLICIES THAT SUPPORT WORKERS AND REDUCE INEQUALITY, WHILE FIGHTING BACK AGAINST REGULATORY ROLLBACKS TO WORKERS' RIGHTS.
Expenses $122,194
-
EDUCATING THE PUBLIC: OAAF ACTIVATED SUPPORTERS AROUND OXFAM AMERICA'S FIRST-EVER U.S. INEQUALITY REPORT, "UNEQUAL: THE RISE OF A NEW AMERICAN OLIGARCHY AND THE AGENDA WE NEED", WHICH HIGHLIGHTED HOW DECADES OF INTENSIFYING INEQUALITY IN THE U.S. HAVE CULMINATED IN A NEW AMERICAN OLIGARCHY, CHARACTERIZED BY RECORD LEVELS OF WEALTH CONCENTRATION AND OUTSIZED POLITICAL POWER. WE HOSTED TWO ORGANIZING AND POWER-BUILDING TRAININGS WITH PARTNERS, BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL NONPROFITS, AND HOSTED COMMUNITY-BASED POSTCARD WRITING EVENTS IN CHICAGO, CALLING TO TAX THE ULTRA-RICH. OXFAM ACTION NETWORK VOLUNTEERS ATTENDED ELLEVATE LOUISIANA'S LEGISLATIVE POLICY CONFERENCE IN BATON ROUGE, JOINING LABOR AND ADVOCACY PARTNERS FOCUSED ON STRENGTHENING ECONOMIC SECURITY FOR WOMEN AND FAMILIES.
Expenses $59,143
-
CAMPAIGNING: OAAF CAMPAIGNS FOR FAIR AND JUST POLICIES. THE OXFAM ACTION NETWORK CONTINUED BUILDING ORGANIZING CAPACITY AND SUPPORTER ENGAGEMENT THROUGH A MIX OF TRAININGS, VOLUNTEER MOBILIZATIONS, ADVOCACY MEETINGS, AND LOCAL COMMUNITY EVENTS. OAAF CONTINUED ADVOCACY DIRECTLY TO CONGRESS, THROUGH MULTIPLE FLY-IN LOBBY DAYS, WHERE OAAF SUPPORTERS LOBBIED CONGRESS ON FOREIGN ASSISTANCE FUNDING AS WELL AS LEGISLATIVE LANGUAGE RELATED TO CONGRESSIONAL SPENDING DIRECTIVES, ADMINISTRATION REPORTING REQUIREMENTS, AND TRANSPARENCY PROVISIONS. OAAF ADVANCED A ROBUST LABOR AGENDA THROUGH STATE-LEVEL ADVOCACY, COALITION BUILDING, AND SUSTAINED PARTNERSHIP WITH ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TO IMPROVE ECONOMIC SECURITY FOR WOMEN AND FAMILIES ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)
- FORM 990, SCHEDULE J, PART I, LINE 3:
- OXFAM AMERICA ACTION FUND DOES NOT DIRECTLY COMPENSATE THEIR PRESIDENT OR ANY OFFICERS. COMPENSATION FOR OXFAM AMERICA EXECUTIVES IS SET BY A COMPENSATION COMMITTEE COMPRISED OF INDEPENDENT MEMBERS OF THE OXFAM AMERICA BOARD OF DIRECTORS. OAAF COMPENSATION IS ADMINISTERED BY OXFAM AMERICA PURSUANT TO A SERVICES AGREEMENT. COMPENSATION FOR OXFAM AMERICA EXECUTIVES IS SET BY A COMPENSATION COMMITTEE COMPRISED OF INDEPENDENT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE COMMITTEE REGULARLY ENGAGES QUALIFIED INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS TO ENSURE THAT TOTAL EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION IS BOTH COMPETITIVE AND REASONABLE AS COMPARED TO MARKET, THAT IT CONFORMS TO IRS GUIDELINES, AND WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED EXCESSIVE UNDER INTERMEDIATE SANCTIONS PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN SECTION 4958 OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. AS OF NOVEMBER 1, 2010, BASED ON RECOMMENDATIONS OF INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS, THE COMPENSATION COMMITTEE DECIDED TO INSTITUTE A BENEFIT PROGRAM WHICH REQUIRES EXECUTIVES TO INVEST AFTER TAX INCOME INTO ONE OF A LIMITED NUMBER OF THIRD PARTY BENEFIT PLANS. THE AFTER-TAX AMOUNT ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROGRAM IS INCLUDED AS REPORTABLE W-2 COMPENSATION IN PART VII, AND IN SCHEDULE J, PART II, COLUMN B (III), OTHER REPORTABLE COMPENSATION.
Part I's answers as filed. A line not listed was left unanswered; on lines 1a and 3 that means the box was not checked.
