Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)

PART I, LINE 1A
SPOUSAL TRAVEL OCCURS IN VERY LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT AND SR VICE PRESIDENT OF UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT WHEN ATTENDING UNIVERSITY RELATED EVENTS AND FUNCTIONS. UNIVERSITY POLICY REQUIRES PRE-APPROVAL BY THE BOARD CHAIR AND WRITTEN SUBSTANTIATION OF THE BONA FIDE BUSINESS PURPOSE WHEN ACCOMPAINIED BY A SPOUSE. SPOUSAL TRAVEL IS TREATED AS TAXABLE COMPENSATION TO THE EMPOLYEE AS REQUIRED BY THE IRS WHEN IT IS NOT FOR A BONA FIDE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS PURPOSE. THE COMPENSATION COMMITTEE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES REVIEWS TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION. THE PRESIDENT IS REIMBURSED FOR AN ANNUAL CREDIT CARD MEMBERSHIP FEE WHICH IS PROVIDED SOLELY FOR UNIVERSITY BUSINESS RELATED TRAVEL. THE UNIVERSITY DOES NOT PROVIDE PAYMENT FOR PERSONAL SERVICES, TAX INDEMNIFICATIONS OR GROSS-UP PAYMENTS FOR ANY PERSON LISTED IN PART VII, SECTION A.
PART I, LINE 3
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION COMMITTEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CONCERNING COMPENSATION OF THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT, AND SETTING COMPENSATION AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR OFFICERS OF THE UNIVERSITY. THE PROCESS FOR DETERMINING COMPENSATION INCLUDES RETAINING AN INDEPENDENT FIRM TRIENIALLY TO STUDY EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION TO ASSURE THAT THE COMPENSATION OF EACH OFFICER IS COMPARABLE TO POSITIONS OF SIMILARLY SITUATED ORGANIZATIONS. THE EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION COMMITTEE IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING OR COMMISSIONING ANY OTHER NECESSARY SURVEY OR STUDIES AND REPORT THE RESULTS TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. MEETINGS AND DECISIONS OF THIS COMMITTEE ARE DOCUMENTED CONTEMPORANEOUSLY IN COMMITTEE MINUTES.
