ission of Art Spark Texas is to challenge the perceptions of how people contribute by creating an arts-inspired inclusive community of individuals with diverse abilities.

  • Community Arts provided workshops, classes, and opportunities to artists with disabilities to sell their work at local and statewide events. In 2023/24, we offered in-person exhibits and classes at our office/studio location, while still providing some visual art and writing classes and workshops virtually. Art Spark Dance hosted a series of SME task force committee meetings in preparation for the National Dance Educators Convening in October 2024.We continued with the East Austin Galley Tour to host monthly exhibitions, and joined the East Austin Studio Tour to showcase the work of six artists. Launched third season of True Tales by Disability Advocates podcast featuring stories by people with disabilities, with over 3,700 downloads. The Texas Veterans Strong program continues to serve over 700 veterans by offering multi-arts in person retreats and virtual classes across the state, and in September, we hosted a week-long residency with Drew Mattot and the Peace Paper Project. We presented the 14th Annual Distinguished Artist Veteran exhibition in Wichita Falls, Texas, and offered fiscal and administrative support to Tubu Fest, a three-day disability theater festival of new work by disabled playwrights.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
