Mission
THE CLINIC DELIVERS ORAL HEALTH EDUCATION AND COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED AND UNDERSERVED CHILDREN, INCLUDING THOSE WITH COMPLEX MEDICAL CONSIDERATIONS, WHILE ALSO PROVIDING PREMIER TRAINING IN PEDIATRIC AND MULTI-SPECIALTY DENTISTRY.
Activities or mission (Part I)
TO MAINTAIN AND SUPPORT THE CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH CLINIC.
-
The Children's Dental Health Clinic (CDHC) has been serving Greater Long Beach since 1932. We serve over 6,500 children and young adults, ages 0-21, through 15,000 visits each year. Our patients are living at or below 266% of the federal poverty level, have issues with access to care, and/or have complex medical considerations. The CDHC is the only multi-specialty, non-profit hospital based dental provider in the Greater Long Beach area providing treatment under general anesthesia for low-income children. The CDHC is located on the campus of the Miller Women and Children's Hospital (from whom we lease space) with a satellite clinic in Avalon on Catalina Island. Over 90% of our underserved children use or are elgible for state Medicaid. This program (Medi-Cal Dental) reimburses only approximately 65% of our costs.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
