Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

Good Samaritan Boys Ranch is on a mission to confront the forces that push families into foster care and transform the systems that fail youth as they leave it through a spectrum of residential and community-based services that bring enrichment to youth and families in the Missouri foster care system.

Activities or mission (Part I)

Empowering youth in foster care and families in crisis to heal from trauma and build resiliency.

  • Over the past year, Good Samaritan's Treatment Program provided more than 300 hours of therapy to help youth in foster care heal from trauma. As the region's leader in serving youth with problematic sexual behaviors, the program helps young people overcome their past experiences and learn to build healthy relationships. Good Samaritan also operates the largest Transitional Living Program in Missouri, serving one-third of all transitional living youth statewide. In 2025, every eligible young person in our care graduated high school or earned their GED. Our Transitional Living Apartment Program additionally provided stable housing and support for 36 youth preparing to age out of foster care.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
