Mission
Better Block Foundation educates, equips, and empowers communities and their leaders to reshape and reactivate built environments to promote the growth of healthy and vibrant neighborhoods.
-
The Better Blocks mission is to educate, equip, and empower communities and their leaders to reshape and reactive built environments to promote the growth of healthy and vibrant neighborhoods. The work extends from Dallas and Colorado to Pittsburgh and Detroit . The Better Block is open-sourced and works with neighbors in a myriad of ways. One includes a library of designs for street furniture that can be downloaded and snapped together to make streets instantly better. Our community-engagement process demonstrates not only how to make a block better but also the tools and resources in the neighborhood that are readily available to make this transformation.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
