Mission
Silver Horizon's mission is to see low-income seniors living safe and secure, in their own homes, with enough food to eat.
Activities or mission (Part I)
For 40 years, Silver Horizons Mission has been to provide critical help to extremely low-income seniors, and the grandchildren they are raising. Silver Horizons helps with lifes basics: food, household bills, and minor home repairs/retrofits. Most of the seniors we assist live on less than $900 per month. Our Vision is to see seniors living safe and secure, in their own homes, with enough food to eat.
-
Household Bill Assistance:Silver Horizons helps low-income seniors pay important household bills. Many of the seniors we assist have either past-due bills, or they have received disconnect notices. Silver Horizons assists with water, landline telephone, internet, vet bills for seniors pets, electric, gas, firewood and propane (if primary source of heat) and rent. Minor Home Repairs/Retrofits:Silver Horizons assist with minor home repairs and retrofits. We help with essential repairs under $1,000 for senior citizens who qualify for our program.Food Distribution:Our goal is to provide about two-weeks worth of groceries (monthly) to about 3,500 impoverished seniors and to nearly 1,200 grandchildren many of these seniors are raising. Free groceries are distributed in Albuquerque, from Santa Fe to Belen, and from Moriarty to Laguna, primarily through food pantries and home deliveries.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
