Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)
- Schedule J, Part I, Line 4a Severance or change-of-control payment
- The following individual received severance payments during calendar year 2022: Brett McClung $1,118,000 and Scott Wooten $784,616. This amount is included on Schedule J, part II, column b(iii).
- Schedule J, Part I, Line 4b Supplemental nonqualified retirement plan
- Baptist Health System, Inc. (BHS) has three supplemental nonqualified retirement plans (SERPs). One is a SERP for certain executives, another is a defined benefit SERP for vice presidents, and the third is a defined contribution SERP for senior management. These SERPs are plans described in IRS Section 457(f). The benefits under these plans accrue during each executive's term of employment. These benefits are unvested and subject to forfeiture until the covered employee reaches retirement age or the five-year anniversary of the contribution date. The following individuals accrued unvested benefits under these plans during calendar year 2022: Matthew Zuino $130,929, Rick Tresmond $31,640, G. Scott Baity $99,204, and Timothy Groover M.D. $122,245. Southeast Georgia Health System, Inc. (SGHS) has a supplemental nonqualified retirement plan (SERP). The SERP plan has certain employees that participate in a 457(f) deferred compensation plan which gives SGHS an opportunity to supplement the retirement income of its select management group or highly compensated employees by contributing to a plan that will be paid to the executive at retirement. Under the terms of the plan, the following amounts were deferred during calendar year 2022: Byron S. Raynes $118,789 and Christy Jordan $55,832. Under the terms of the plan, the following amounts were included in the form W-2 as taxable income for 2022: Michael D. Scherneck $702,509 and Christy Jordan $29,393. Scott Wooten has vested his SERP benefit during 2022. In addition to Mr. Wooten's yearly compensation of $156,590 ($156,219 taxable compensation and deferred compensation with non-taxable benefits of $371), the total amount of the taxable SERP was also included in his W-2, Box 5 in the amount of $2,617,868, per IRS guidelines. The taxable SERP compensation was paid to Mr. Wooten as a one-time lump sum amount. The SERP amount is reported on Schedule J, Part II, Column (B)(iii) "Other Reportable Compensation on Form 990, Part VII. Any amounts already reported as deferred compensation on a prior Form 990 are reported on Schedule J, Part II, Column (F) "Compensation in Column (B) Reported as Deferred on Prior Form 990."
Part I's answers as filed. A line not listed was left unanswered; on lines 1a and 3 that means the box was not checked.
